When I try to delete files in Lightroom CC I get an error message that says the file cannot be moved to the recycle bin. I have searched the web but can't find much. Here is a clue: I just moved Lightroom and all my photographs to a new computer. When I completed the move I performed an "update folder location" (since I placed the files on the D:Drive and they were on the C:Drive on the old computer. But Lightroom found the photos and everything else seems to be working fine. In doing the move I followed a video by Julieanne Kost so I think everything was moved correctly. Any ideas?
The message means that the images you delete on your D drive cannot be put into the recycle bin, which is on your C drive; however, they can still get deleted. This means that the deletion is permanent, it cannot be undone because without the images in the Recycle Bin, you cannot change your mind and restore them from the bin. I do not know if the D drive can be set up to support trash being put into the recycle bin on the C drive. Perhaps someone else here knows that answer.
The message is because your D drive is more than likely formatted FAT32 or just FAT.
