Hi helenm55416186 ,
Could you please tell how you are opening the pdf files- in Web Browser?
Try to download the file from e-mail to iPhone, and then open it in Acrobat Reader.
Let us know about the results.
Have you tried to first download it on your iPhone and then open it in Acrobat Reader?

I cannot open certain PDF files on my iPhone6 Plus sent to me by e-mail. The ones I cannot open have passwords, which I know.
These same files I can open on my Windows laptop without any problem. Below is the message I get:
" The document you are trying to load requires Adobe Reader 8 or higher. You may not have Adobe Reader installed or your viewing environment may not be properly configured to us Adobe Reader
For information on how to install Adobe Reader and configure your viewing environment please see http://adobe.com/go/pdf_forms_configure"

Hi, thanks for the answer, but it did not solve my problem. Do not understand why you directed me to the Adobe site where you can download and install a free trial version of Adobe Pro DC as it does not install on my iPhone.
There is also NO version of it on the Apple App store-not free nor to buy.
If you can just give me a name of an app for iPhone that can read these pdf's,I wil be glad.

Currently, Acrobat iOS doesn't support certain type of Form PDF document on iPhone and iPad. Unfortunately, the one you have sounds like is one of them.
In order to open this kind of Form PDF document, may I suggest the following alternative,
1. On your laptop, please download the PDF from your mail
2. Go to the link below to download and install Adobe Reader on your laptop
3. Run Adobe Reader and then open the PDF from your laptop
Hope this help,
Sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
