beta 2 project upgrade to beta 3

    tophe1603
      Hi,
I am trying to open/upgrade an earlier Beta 2 test project into Beta 3.

Is it possible? I did read somewhere in the docs about needing to "rebuild" projects, but I took that to mean maybe "import" or some such.

Maybe I'm missing something - unable to find any reference in searches.

      Thanks for any assistance,
      Chris

You should be able to just do File > New > Flex Project in Beta 3, and
select your existing project folder as the location of the new project.
After creating the project, you should do Project > Clean.

Most likely, there will be some new compiler or runtime errors in your
application due to API or language changes between Beta 2 and Beta 3.
You can find a list of changes here:

          http://labs.adobe.com/wiki/index.php/Flex:Beta_2_to_Beta_3_Changes

If you run into weird issues with the imported project in Flex Builder,
I would suggest doing the following:

-- Delete the project from FB without deleting its contents.
-- Go into the project folder and delete all the files and folders that
start with "." (e.g. ".project", ".flexProject", ".actionScriptProject",
".settings/"), as well as the "bin" and "html-templates" folders
(assuming you haven't modified the latter). It's possible that the beta
2 versions of these files might cause problems in beta 3 (although I
think we try to automatically fix these up).
-- Re-create the project in FB again as before.

          Hope this helps.
