I have a client that is asking me if I can use a OBJ file from a Matterport 3D camera to create a 3D model of a house for sale. They would like it to animate to an extent and have a short video made of the house in 3D. I know Element 3D can import OBJ files, but when I do it does not have the textures. Should I be looking elsewhere, as in different software or would AE and E3D or Cinema 4D Lite work?
Edit: I could share the OBJ, MTL and jpg files for the sample one the realtor gave me to sample.
This has nothing to do with what plug-ins you use. You simply need to put in some effort and give your 3D object a workover in a suitable 3D program to outfit it with proper texture cooordinates and/ or make use of the texture mapping options in Element 3D.
As Mylenium said. To use OBJs in correct way you have to built them for E3D or settup textures in already bulided models to work with C4D.
Here some examples how to do that:
Thank you, that was very helpful!
