This may be answered already somewhere, but as far as I've looked so far, I cannot find a solution that works for me, but I feel like this should be fairly straight forward.
This summer I was traveling around Europe and taking lots of photos. I brought my laptop with me so that I could import and edit the pictures while still on the trip. Now I am back at home and would like the transfer all of my photos with the lightroom edits/data onto my new computer. (Obviously it's easy to just copy the photos but I'm having trouble getting the data to move over properly).
I'm running Windows 10 with lightroom 6 on both machines.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also have an external hardrive to use to transfer everything.
If you want to move everything from the laptop to the other computer then you could simply export the catalog and images to an external hard drive and then on the other computer connect the external hard drive. Then open Lightroom on that computer and choose to import from a catalog and choose the catalog on the external hard drive. That will enable you to add your vacation images to your catalog on the "main" computer. Then you will have your vacation photos on both computers.
Thank you very much! That worked beautifully.
