Yes ... thats looks exactly like what Im after...right close to the start.
Im planning to film whilst standing in the sea looking up the beach slightly and will film normal and slo mo versions of the receeding tide.
I'm guessing this might be fairly straightforward?
yes this is pretty easy. I actually practice this with my students when I teach time remapping and alpha matte. showing them that even they, at their first semester, can make the same wave reveal like Broadwalk Empire .
making the waves moving slow is easy even without shooting slow motion (though I would shoot slow motion just in case) because pixel motion needs to only calculate the motion vectors in one direction (layer->frame blending->pixel motion). and roto is very easy.
I just practice with them the exposing of the text with Alpha matte and masking the waves. with TR you can also control the speed of course, so it will be exactly like the Broadwalk empire title sequence i.e regular speed and then really slow. this movement can be refined with the graph editor.
if you wan your logo to be shown beneath the water you can use displacement map of the wave footage. use black and white effect to make it greyscale and with more contrast and put some fast blur. this is the setup I have made in a few minutes. tried to show you everything
Many thanks Roei. Perfect solution.
You're welcome buddy. if you can - share the results when you are done.
