- Please navigate to /Users/joaocarlos/
- Right click on Pictures Folder
- Grant Full Read/Write permissions to this folder including all its enclosed items.

Thank you, Akash for your help. I tried grant Read/Write permissions to the Pictures Folder but I found out that it is not really there anymore. Maybe it's a consequence of the upgrade of Mac OS from Yosemite to El Capitan. As you can see on the print screen the Pictures folder has a black arrow like it's just a shortcut to the real folder.
Can you create a new Folder named "Pictures" and put few folders containing images in it?
Lightroom by default creates the catalog in "Pictures" folder and it is required to launch Lr.
It worked! Now I can import images. Thank you very much.
