That link says I am not authorized to download LR6. Adobe email with order number and serial number says I AM authorized to download LR6. Now what?
What is the exact word-for-word message? When in the process does the message appear?
As far as I know, that link will allow anyone to download the software.
It flashed and froze. Sorry I don't remember. I have managed to
download LR6.x Windows installer from
doesn't put the extracted files where I tell it to. It insists on
putting them on my desktop. Then it requires my password, but denies
the password I just used to log in to the Adobe site. So now I'm
awaiting a password reset email. I have now been at this for 2 days. I
expect better of Adobe!
My LR 4.4 stopped exporting with specified file name (custom plus
original number) which is the ONLY reason I'm trying to update. What's
the matter with it?
In my opinion, the desktop is the best place for the extracted files. It's just the installer. The installer is going to put the program files in the appropriate folder. Then you can delete those files from your desktop.
Sorry, found the "update failed" message. It won't let me copy it
here. Now that window has vanished. But it said to look for "updates"
in my current product. If I click "check updates" in my LR4.4 it says
it's up to date. Now what?
As far as I can remember, installing LR 6 does not require a password, it does require a serial number.
What is the exact full name of the file you downloaded? When it asks for a password, what is the exact wording? Can you show us a screen capture?

Thanks for your support. It made me persist. It has FINALLY installed
itself and is converting my LR4.4 right now. However it DID require my
logon and password as well as both old and new serial numbers.
Mypictures are still there where they're supposed to be so I guess all
