Help! I've downloaded 6.6 and 6.6.1 directly in order to update from 6.3 on my mid-2012 MacBook Pro (OS X El Capitan 10.11.6) , but when I double-click on AdobePatchIntstaller, a new window pops up with nothing in it. Is it just me, or is it spectacularly difficult to quickly get to answers on things like this in Adobe?
Could Gatekeeper be blocking installation? Sometimes only App Store installations are permitted. Check your settings by going to:
Apple Menu >> System Preferences >> Security & Privacy >> General (tab)
If necessary try changing the setting under “Allow app downloads from:”
Re-boot your Mac
Then try the 6.6.1 update again.
Wow - that was fast AND it worked. Thank you, 99jon! Are you Adobe staff?
I'm just a volunteer. I don't work for Adobe. Glad to hear it worked.
