When bringing assets you've created in AI into AE, do you bring over the basics and then compile and edit them in AE?
For example, say I plan to duplicate a tree and create 10 copies to fill out a space, would I do that in AI then bring it over or just bring the 1 over in AE and do the duplicating there?
Or if I plan to add a texture to my image, add the texture in AI or AE? Or shadows etc
it depends on your knowledge and experience in both Application , for ex.
say I plan to duplicate a tree and create 10 copies
you can duplicate the tree in AE and AI since both , but in after Effects it would be better , because you need to use 1 layer and Duplicated 10 times so this will affects the render time and file size
Or if I plan to add a texture to my image, add the texture in AI or AE? Or shadows
if you want change or animate the properties of a shadow its better to be done in AE
Thanks for the reply.
Yeah I kind of feel more comfortable using AE for the finer details of a piece. Get it made up in AI then bring it over to AE as soon as I can.
Was just curious to hears peoples work flow between the 2 programs
