I'm looking to export a file for grading, from my Windows based system to Mac based colorist. I thought DNxHR 444 would fit the bill nicely given what I've read up on it.
Looking at AME's export options, it appears that:
-ONLY Quicktime allows for 12bit High Quality DNxHR 444 export.
-MXF files is limited to 10bit DNxHR 444, and they don't show the codec settings like with the Quicktime export.
Why is this?
I believe you need to install the avid codec here: Avid Codecs 2.3.7 Download.
what you are seeing in AME is the Native DNxHD codec. if you install the codec you will have these options in After Effects.
sorry, now I see you wrote DNxHR and not DNxHD. but still I have never seen an option to do 12bit with this Codec thorough Ae or AME. maybe others can pitch in if that's possible or a workaround.
