I reviewing images from an industrial capture system that saves important data (including timestamps and focus data) in higher-number custom TIFFF tags.
e.g. 65000, 65001, etc.
These don't show up with many TIFF viewing applications (PS, LR, Preview in OSX, etc... even exiftool). From my understanding, this is due to the fact that they are considered "private tags" that should be ignored because the apps don't know what to do with them.
Does anyone know of a Plugin for Lightroom that would allow viewing these sorts of tags? It would be wonderful to do sorts and selects on these fields.
I'm pretty sure there isn't any LR plugin that will directly show private TIFF tags.
However, if you're technically minded and experienced with scripting, I think you can create a custom Exiftool config to show the tags (see example.config for hints about how to go about that -- you'll probably need to post on the Exiftool forum for help). Once you've got Exiftool showing the tags, then you can use the Data Explorer plugin to view and group photos in LR by the private tags.
