We are running into an issue where a user is working on a product catalog in InDesign (latest 2015 version, OS X El Cap) and upon opening the document and sometimes when scrolling, all of the images do not properly load and you see only their alpha masks (most links are PSDs). See attached screenshot for clarity. This seems to happen in both High Quality display mode and Typical display mode. Sometimes toggling those two modes will fix it, but not always. Usually to fix issue, it takes closing and reopening InDesign. I have confirmed that all links are updated and valid. The links are on the local computer and I cannot find a common thread in the links that are having problems. Also, it changes each time the issue occurs...so it is not always the same images having problems. I have saved out the INDD file as IDML and opened as that to see if the problem was a corruption in the file, but that does not seem to make a difference.
Has anyone run into this and can you offer possibles fixes/suggestions?
Try pressing Shift-F5 when it happens.
