I'm completely new to LR and somehow lost in its functionality. I scanned a set of negatives using a CoolScan 5000 and am trying to optimize the pictures a little bit. Specifically, I'm playing around with filters for color correction.
My problem is that all the pictures that I scanned have a frame area in which the picture is more ore less completely black or white. And this leads to undesired effects with the filters as you can see in the part of the image attached.
Is there any way to make the LR filters ignore the outer part of the picture for caculating the filters?
Thanks in advance
The blue color is a warning for clipped shadows.
Press J on the keyboard to turn it off, or click the triangle top left in the histogram.
The warning for clipped highlights will appear in red. (top right in the histogram)
Thanks a lot! I guess I'll have to read quite a few tutorials before even getting along with the basics of LR.
