"edit in..." photoshop no longer working for my DNG files

Ok, I've read numerous discussions on this topic and tried all given solutions, but the option is no longer working for me since I've updated both programs.

      Currently working on:

      Mac OSX 10.11.6

Photoshop Lightroom CC 2015.6.1 and Camera Raw 9.6

      Photoshop CC 2015.5.1

Pictures on external HDD with Cloud backup

      Lightroom catalog on computer

      Lightroom catalog backups in Cloud

Preferences in Lightroom for editing in Photoshop:

      File format: PSD

      Color Space: ProPhoto RGB

      Bit Depth: 16 bits

      Resolution: 300

Metadata Settings: Automatically write changes into XMP

uninstalling/installing both programs with reboots and even with uninstalling preferences.

      Uninstalled and installed Creative Cloud.

      deleting com.adobe.Photoshop.plist

Opening Tiff, Jpeg,... gives no problems. I still get the possibility to decide to open original/copy with LR adjustments/copy without LR adjustments

However, opening a DNG through LR in photoshop opens Photoshop but no longer opens the image and thus I can't save as PSD afterwards.

This is completely killing my workflow because all my images are stored as DNG/RAW files
