Did it ever work? have you installed the latest patch, released yesterday?
Same problem...so frustrating
Yep, got the patch, update...nada! Meantime, work is backing up!
Thanks Peter! I've managed to achieve both the keyboard and manual trash...still the same problem, open it up, and then: 'InDesign has stopped working....'
Did it work before? OS?
And is the InDesign Recovery folder empty?
There is a new patch out today that addresses an issue with InDesign Libraries and Windows 10. Check to see if it has updated.
We posted an update yesterday which address some issues we observed/heard about after the release of InDesign CC2015.4.
You can refer to the release note here: InDesign CC 2015.4 Release Notes
We would recommendyou to apply this update.
If you are still seeing a crash after applying this latest update, please send us the crash dump/log from your machine.
You can directly mail them to me @email@example.com
Please mention the steps you were doing when you encountered the crash.
For Mac OS, you can directly copy paste the crash report that shows up after the crash.
For Windows, you can follow the following steps to generate the crash dump:
1) Start Task Manager. To do this, use one of the following methods:
• Right-click an empty area of the task bar, and then click Start Task Manager.
• Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC.
2) Click the Processes tab.
3) Right-click the name of the process that you want, and then click Create Dump File.
Note: If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
A dump file for the process is created in the following folder:
4) When you receive a message that states that the dump file was successfully created, click OK.
Share the dump file created with steps above with us using Dropbox or any other file storage and sharing system.
@Pragya: for what's worth, trashing prefs doesn't do the trick. Best is to delete (or rename) the cache, and ... try deleting the older versions too.
If using 11.4.1 does not resolve the crash issue then we would like to investigate it more, by looking at the crash logs so that we can make the latest version usable for all.
Since we are not sure about the reason for the crash, hence I have not recommended clearing preferences in the comment above.
By the way, are you also seeing the crash on launch with the latest version?
If yes, please help us with the crash logs and any more info you have around the scenario.
@Pragya: All works fine now, after a day of testing with some 100 files on network drives.
What I noticed, on Windows 7 64b, was that Indesign freezes after the update. Trashing the prefs didn't help, but deleting (or renaming) the cash did work. We had the same problem on 11 pc's, that's why I mentioned it.
Thanks for Replying. We need to further investigate this issue.
For the same we need your help. Can you please send the screenshot of memory Usage while you are working with these many files in InDesign. To send the snapshot. Go to Task manager--> Go to tab Performance--> Click a screenshot of it .
Please send this to me @ firstname.lastname@example.org
