The panel minimum width was increased, because we were seeing clipping in the Font name and Style at the bottom of the panel on reducing the size(width) to minimum.
There were some long font names like "Gloucester MT Extra Condensed " where the clipping was more prominent.
There was a trade off between clipping or larger panel size.
Please provide your input as what behavior would you like to see in InDesign for this case.
This will help us in giving a better user experience.

Personally, that sounds like a good trade-off, Pragya. Workaround: The user can float the Glyphs panel so the other panels stay narrow. That way font names can be correctly read in the Glyphs panel.
Thank you for your reply. My suggestion would maybe add the option to have the glyph panel either be in the wide with or the original width. Then at least if people who are not concerned about the font name clipping (like myself), they can have the panel act like it used to.
