Some images show but others don't

    athlonlle
      I need some help please,
The swf file I created works perfectly, all the images show, but when I uploaded to the web page, some images show and others don't. I uploaded the same images with the same names and in the same folders, but only some seem to work. Do you know why?

most likely you are publishing to a player version your browser does not have. upgrade your player.

Hi Chris. If people upgrade their player to version 8 to be able to see progressive jpegs then it will work for them on that
computer but not for the 90+ % of people still using player 6 or 7. I would think that it's still a bad idea to put progressive
jpegs on Flash websites until the player8 is more widely used. Don't you agree?

I know it might sound cruel but from what I gather after dealing with lots of clients is that they
never upgrade the player, don't even know there is such a need unless I tell them too.
So the faster way to get the player popularity is to make people download it.
I chill for few months because first player has usually larger number of bugs than in about
half a year I publish my work ONLY for the latest player and I put a note - 'require player 8' and
never get concern about the rest.

The only time I do old player compatible work is when we built something for large corporate client
and they simply need to be all-kind-of-visitors friendly.

I think its time, soon will be a year and 8 does have some nice features, not just progressive jpg,
also gif and png and more...

I do agree depending on audience. some people in corporate environment are behind firewall and are
not power users - so they have limited rights and can't download/install anything to their local
machines - including Flash - i have several friend who are like this and i can't send them anything
that is Flash 8 - and most of these friends are Flash 8 users! IT deoartements must go through red
tape just to upgrade each machine.
