I’m using Lightroom ver6.6. I have 100 photos, (that I originally had Lightroom place on my external HD), which I now want to import (transfer) to my Mac internal HD. Both the Mac HD and the External drives show up in the Lightroom Folder Panel in the Library Module. So is there a easy way to import these photos inside of the Lightroom program from my External HD to my Mac HD, with reference to the Folders Panel (or other means using the Lightroom software) without loosing them….
Thanks for any help.
The safest way is to follow the insturctions in "Part 2 — Updating Folder Location" in this document: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders
There is no importing involved. Importing is the wrong thing to do.
You don't Import them again. You just select them in the LR Library grid view then Drag them, clicking on one of the actual images that are selected, into the folder on you want them in on your Mac Internal HD.
Or you can use Finder, the Mac File Manager, to move them to the internal drive then in LR you Find Missing files to re-associate them in the LR catalog from where they are now located.
