Set up PS CS6 as a secondary editor in Lightroom CC then you can choose to "Edit in PS CS6" Lightroom CC will create a tiff or psd file in PS CS6 for you to do the additional editing. This is necessary since PS CS6 can only use ACR 9.1.1 and the Latest version of LR CC 2015.6.1 is the equivalent of ACR 9.6.1
Quote "I want to edit in PS CC 2015.5 in PS CS6."
What do you mean by this? PS CC 2015.5 and PS CS6 are two different applications.
You can edit in in PS CC 2015.5 as the primary editor or in PS CS6 as a secondary editor.
Thanks for your response but PS CS6 was set as the secondary editor in Lightroom CC when the problem started. I removed it and the problem continues.
I will try to answer to your file header.
a. Why is Lightroom opening .tif files in PS CS6?
Lightroom CC 2015 has an advanced processing engine than the ACR Plugin of PS CS6 (9.1.1) vs (9.6.1 in LR CC) in this scenario Lightroom will process the raw data and create a .tif file which will be opened in PS CS6 for further processing.
b. Why is opening Lightroom opening RAW files in PS CC 2015.5?
In this scenario the ACR Plugin in PS CC matches the equivalent raw processing engine of Lightroom so it automatically invokes PS CC to use ACR Plugin to process the raw data and this is open in memory in Photoshop CC and will be saved as a tiff or psd when completed.
In the final analysis you will always end up with a rendered tif or psd.
I get that w/ RAW files, but don't know why LR CC would default to opening of a previously processed .tif or .jpg files in CS6? The files were already converted .tif or .jpg and need no further RAW processing.
The only way to accomplish it is to switch from LR to PS CC 2015.5 open the file from PS CC 2015.5. A big time waster.
When you are using the "edit in function" from Lightroom, you the user will be selecting the file for editing. I do not understand what you are asking.
It is not possible to edit a file from PS CC 2015 to PS CS6?
Could you explain what you are trying to do?
Step 1 - select a .tif or .jpg file in LR CC for editing in PS CC 2015.5
Step 2 - click "edit in" and select PS CC 2015.5 as the outside editor
Step 3 - LR CC automatically opens the .tif or .jpg in PS CS6 - NOT in PS CC 2015.5
It makes no difference if CS6 is included as outside editor option in #2 position or is not available as such. LR CC automatically opens the file in PS CS6
Sorry, I have never had a post indicating this experience.
