    Animate vs Flash Professional

    AyrdanDesign Level 1

      Hi People.

      I have just recently started to use "AnimateCC" now to create HTML5 Canvas animations.

      I have come from Flash 5 Professional.....

      I would like to know if and how I can add things like the Action Script GoToAndPlay, GoToAndStop, etc.

      In Flash Pro I had a layer at the top called "Actions" and at certain frames I would put the AS in.

      Also, in Flash 5, at the end of the animation there would be links, HTML links, to the specific page.
      Can I do the same thing in Animate ???

      Thank you in advance.

      Glen.

          the same code works in canvas as as3.  [CLARIFICATION:  the same stop(), play() and goto's work in canvas as as3]

          you just need to remember frames start with number 1 and you need to always explicitly reference the timeline you want to direct.  eg,

          as3:  gotoAndStop(4);

          canvas:  this.gotoAndStop(3);

            SOME of the same code works in Canvas as in AS3. Anything that uses any of the AS3 APIs will not.

            The scripting language in Canvas mode is literally JavaScript, running directly in the browser, so of course you can open links.
