If the program opens and works fine, you can try going to the Help menu and select Check for Updates.
If that doesn't work, you can just ignore the update nag screen, since it's not a vital update to the program -- or contact Adobe Customer Care via chat and see if they can help you.
Thanks for your reply Steve. Help -+ update does nothing whatsoever, as if
it didn't check if updates were available. I thought it might be a firewall
or antivirus issue but disabling then made no difference. I'm surprised no
one else seems to have this problem. Thankfully 14.0 works fine.
No reason to push it then.
But when you have a chance, start up the program and see if the "splash" screen shows that you have version 14.1. (You can also check under the Help menu by selecting About Adobe Premiere Elements.)
You may already have the 14.1 update and the nag screen is just nagging for no reason.
