Hi, I have created a book that can be personalized by the customer. Therefore, I have to layout several (40+) books in inDesign with different illustrations but with the same text. I have all illustrations placed at this point, now I am going to work on text. Just wondering if anyone knows of an easy way in which I could maybe lay out one book and somehow copy that formatted text into all others? Or even just anything to make my life a bit easier? This is my first time working with inDesign and I'd really appreciate any help. Thank you so much
Make the first file and save it as a template (indt). That way you can open the file and all the styles you created will be in it.
Be sure to create the correct styles (para and chars).
Thank you so much! So will I be able to apply that template to files that I've already saved with the illustrations in it? Or should I have done text first?
You can use the first file to create the template. Open it, save it as a template, and delete anything that shouldn't be in each and every occurrence. Then save it again as the template.
