It sounds as if you are starting the drag action with a click on the sprite, but that you are not ending the action when the user releases the mouse. You can find a number of examples on dragging sprites around at http://nonlinear.openspark.com/tips/dragging/.
Something in your code is not right, but then you knew that. Could you
post the code that you have attached to these player sprites? It will
just be a guess without that information.

For each player i have a very simple code, i know it isn't all that, still a beginner when it comes to Director, but i really enjoy it so i aint giving up.
sprite(7).loch = the mouseH
sprite(7).locv = the mousev
sprite(7).constraint = 1
and for the keyboard controls i have another simple one, yes i know it should be more than that any help appreciated.
case (the keyCode) of
13 : sprite(4).locV = sprite(4).locV -10
1 : sprite(4).locV = sprite(4).locV +10
0 : sprite(4).locH = sprite(4).locH -10
2 : sprite(4).locH = sprite(4).locH +10
sprite(4).constraint = 2
Only sprite 7 will move on mouseUp.
vSprite = sprite(me.spriteNum)
vSprite.loc = the mouseLoc
vSprite.constraint = 1
Oh right yeah my bad, no no i have changed the sprite numbers accordingly that was just an example of the same code i used for each sprite but with the number changed for each sprite, but thanks for that and the link above, but does that allow me to change between players, the main thing which i am after.
