Try creating a new user on your computer and run AE from that user's account to see if it works.
Thanks for the reply. Adobe mentioned to try this and it worked. Putting this here for anyone else that has issues.
Step 1: Quit After effects and Media Encoder
Step 2: Hit Win+R on the keyboard, then type %appdata%
Step 3: Double click on the Adobe folder, locate the After effects folder
Step 4: Rename the folder as “after effects old”
Step 5: go to the Documents folder
Step 6: double click on adobe folder
Step 7: Locate the after effects folder
Step 8: rename it again as the “old after effects” folder
Step 9: Launch After Effects
