    Extension manager CC "failed to initialize"

      I have installed, uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, rebooted . . . in a loop, but always with the same results when I try to open the Extension Manager CC: "Failed to initiate"

      I have only InDesign CC installed in the CC group, but have an older version of InDesign CS6 that I occasionally use when I need older plugins. Anway, I have no idea what is wrong. I am all paid up and the installation seems to go through OK, but then the program closes down as soon as I click on the "failed to initiate" message. No other menus or tabs are accessible for clicking.

        I need the Extensions Manager to install a plugin I purchased at some expense, but I can't get going. Any ideas?
