As far as I know, Adobe has intentionally disabled this in recent versions of Lightroom, so you can't open photos into LR via right-click.
I guess I'll stop looking !!! That's too bad. Maybe they want you to use Bridge???
Maybe they want you to use Bridge???
Nonsense. They want you to use Lightroom. They did this to protect your data, there were reports that people who did this were seeing their photos overwritten.
Thanks for your help. Too bad - That option was useful to me.
Adding to this 'old' thread-
Lightroom is a "Database" type of program.
It does NOT 'Open' images (of any kind) so it cannot be made the default program to 'open' images..
It 'Opens' database files called catalogs. Catalog names end with the file-type suffix ".LRCAT"
You can only 'Open' .LRCAT files with Lightroom.
To view a preview and edit a photo in Lightroom you first have to open a catalog file and 'Import' the photo into the catalog.
