Yes. The Lightroom EULA allows for two concurrent installations - they can be either Mac, PC or one of each.
thank you. i knew about 2 but not 2 platforms.
just use the S# on the disk?
Thanks, I'll let you know how I do.
Whether I go thru the LR 6.0 CC that I have a 7 day trial on my MAC for OR I download from my order history page OR my Products page.
I am run thru a screen that wants my S#. I give it and i get a msg telling me that tells me that there is no qualifying product on my machine. It asks me for a previous version and it's S# and I get that it's an invalid S#.
Back up a little.
I originally bought LR5 on a CD purchased from BHPhotovideo.com
I upgraded to LR6 via a download from Adobe.
My desktop died and I want to run my second LR6 on my Mac which does not have a disc drive.
You have to provide the Lightroom 5 serial number when it asks for the previous version serial number.
You have to provide the Lightroom 6 serial number when it asks for the current version serial number.
That is right. I have finally got it on and now it warns me to de-activate one instance, my desktop instance, before it will let me have use of LR6 beyond a 30 countdown.
Except my motherboard is fried and I can't de-activate the LR6 that is on it's hard drive.
And in following the links on The Adobe Live Chat page it tells me that there is no phone support available and I should go to the forums. Brings me back here.
I get the message on my Mac that even though I entered a valid S# it is being used on the maximum # of machines.
I booted from the hard drive from my failed desktop that I put into an external enclosure. I started up LR6 on that drive and signed out in the Help menu. I knew it was the LR6 on this drive since when I ran LR6 on my laptop's installation I set a preferences check box that was NOT set on the LR6 on my external drive.
Same as above. And same message on my Mac when I try to use the downloaded trial.
I also am afraid if I 'Sign Out' of the LR6 on my laptop and then sign in on my Mac that something will prevent me from then signing back in to LR6 on my laptop.
I'm sorry, when I got to that web page, I never have any trouble finding and activating Live Chat. Select:
Adobe Creative Cloud
Membership Account Payment
Please, no need to apologize.
I'll let you know.
When you attempt to sign in on the second computer and receive the message that you have too many machines associated with that ID, you should see, in the dialog, an option deauthorize all machines. Removing the authorization for all allows you to start from scratch and reauthorize only those machines which are still active and in your possession.
That's a different spelling of "Rick" where are from?
I'm in a Live Chat session right now
I;ll get back to you when I'm done there
I got there and Rajesh helped me to install LR6 on b both good PCs.
Thank you for your help.
Rajesh helped me to get things right. That screen you mention does not appear anymore.
I didn't want to go there while I was in a Live Chat session.
Thank you for your help
