The Pan & Zoom isn't really designed for working on segments of video. It's really more for creating motion paths over photos.
To create a motion path or zoom over a video, I'd recommend using keyframing to create a Motion animation in the Applied Effects panel.
Steve - Thanks for the reply I REALLY appreciate it, but if Pan & Zoom aren't designed for video why does the HELP include a : "Apply pan and zoom effect on videos" section ?
That said, what I'm doing isn't working -- at least not consistently. I in fact have another clip in the same timeline where it does work and shows only the "10 sec. clip" I'm working with .
Is there a tutorial or something on your "using keyframing to create a Motion animation in the Applied Effects panel." ?
I cover the tool in my lynda.com courses for Premiere Elements.
Also, lynda.com released my tutorial for this particular tool as a YouTube video.
