    Lightroom error message

      When I open up my Lightroom, I keep getting this error dialog box message..

      'The Lightroom catalog named "Lightroom Catalog" cannot be opened because another application already has it opened."

       

      I only have one computer and do not have Lightroom mobile anywhere. I recently upgraded to the new version. How can i get back the new version? Do I need to uninstall and reinstall?

          A previous running of Lightroom did not properly close down.

           

          Using Finder/Explorer, go to the folder containing your catalog (*.LrCat). In that folder you will find a file with the same name as your catalog file but with a ".Lock" extension. Delete the .Lock file. Delete NOTHING else.
