What version of Fireworks? What version of Windows? What exactly is
happening while you are doing what, and what error messages are you
getting if any?
I'm sorry but "having great difficulty getting fireworks to play ball"
is far too vague a description for anyone to be able to offer any kind
of useful help. You'll have to be far more specific. Also, did you call
Adobe support? This is a user to user forum and support is probably
better positioned to help you with installation problems.
When students with locked down accounts are opening fireworks it saying they need administrative privileges in order to work with some areas. Fireworks is then hanging but will open eventually. It is also stopping them from using some commands in dreamweaver i.e photo album
