So, sequence of steps I do is:
1) start Adobe
2) open document -> I tried small and big local documents (more than 5 in range from 800KB to 32MB) with the same behavior. I thought, size of the file was problem at first.
3) scroll down text and zoom it in then zoom it out, shortly said fast change view of text
4) after while, document is automatically closed and screen jumps to home menu
I tried not to scroll so actively (only a little) but after a while I get same behavior (closing of document)

Acrobat Reader 16.09.21 is available in the App Store now.
It should resolve the frequent crashes that you have experienced.
Please give it a try and let us know if it works for you.
We apologize for the inconvenience.
Performance improvement of Adobe app in this new version (16.09.21) is noticable compared to the last one. I mean scrolling and zooming of text even for bigger documents (30MB and more) is much better than the last version without freezing or crashing. My first tests show, that this update solves mentioned problem. I will use it and if the problem occurs again I will write.
For now, thanks very much for your answering to my problem and solution, now I can use this reader again for reading big bunch of pdf books.
