Cannot export files to DVD/CD from Lightroom 6.6

    ericg73577250

I am having an issue that I cannot export any of my pictures from Adobe Lightroom 6.6 to my CDE/DVD Burner.  LR goes through the motions of asking me which burner and what speed to burn and then prepares to burn that tries to start burning the disc and then immediately goes to 20% completed but there is no activity from my burner what so ever.  I know the burner works cause I also have a separate burner program I use regularly for other tasks.  I have tried exporting the files to a separate location on my hard drive and LR has no issue and performs the task flawlessly.  I have also uninstalled my burner software thinking there was a conflict rebooted my machine and LR still has the same issue exporting to the DVD/CD Burner.  Currently running Windows 7 64 bit, 16 gig of ram.  Any help would be appreciated.

          Hi Ericg,

Could you please update Lightroom to 6.7 once and then check if it helps.

          Regards

          Tanuj

I have made the attempt and CC says I am currently up to date at 6.6.  I am running standalone LR.

Try updating Lightroom from the following link: Keeping Lightroom Up-to-Date

I was able to sucsessfully update to LR 6.7 but still having the same issue with burning to the CD/DVD.

Try exporting the files to a location on your computer and then try to burn the data to the disc using the disc burning software.

Also since when are you facing this issue?

I have been able to burn the files from a separate location on my hard drive with my standalone burner program.  I am not sure how long this issues has been there since I have not tried until recently to burn files/photos directly from LR (i just have not had the need to do it until recently).  I realize that I can do this as a workaround but would like to solve this issue if possible instead of going around it.

Thank you for the update, could you please check and create a test catalog, import some images in it and then check if you still face the same issue or not.

I have made a test catalog imported some photos and attempted to export to CD.  LR goes through the motions and says it is burning to CD and I get the message "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has stopped working" and I have to close the program.

Could you please post the faulty module path for Lightroom crashing.

As per the crash logs, it shows that the disc burning software is causing Lightroom to crash.

Could you please check if there is any update available for the software.

I have checked the drivers for the DVD player and it states they are the current drivers.

This is the file that is causing Lightroom to crash, and it is from the disc burning application, try installing a previous version of the application.

I removed the CD/DVD Driver rebooted the computer Win 7 automatically installed the driver again tried to export the files I been trying to do for the past several days and it works perfectly.  I am assuming there was a file corruption issue that has been fixed with the reinstallation of the driver.

Tanuj,  Unfortunately I have more bad news.  When attempting to export to  a CD LR 6.7 attempts to prepare for export then just crashes.  Please see below for the log:

                                              Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Lightroom\DiscBurning.dll

It seems that Discburning.dll is causing Lightroom to crash.

Could you please check with the disc burning software team and see if they can provide you with the most updated drivers.

I am a little confused.  Do you mean disc burning software team at adobe?  If so how do I reach out to them?  Or do you mean the software maker that makes the independent disc burning software I own?

As far as I am aware Lightroom "per say" does not have a disk burning utility and uses the disk burning functions provided by your operating system.

I have tried looking around for an alternate Win 7 64 bit driver for a super write master CD/DVD drive but have had no luck.

If you require top quality disk burning functions then you may wish to purchase/acquire a dvd/cd burning application.
