Running LR 5 on Windows 10. It worked great until a recent update to windows. Now I can't see my photos directory in the import dialog. I can see the drive that the files are on, but can't see the actual photos directory.
One other bit of clarifying information: when windows updated, it required a windows onilne account to be created. This account creates a new set of home directories that appear to be linked to the old windows 7 username file structure. Something appears to have changed that is preventing LR from seeing all of the files on the drive.
Has anyone else seen this?
I don't think it has anything to do with an online window account (note that was never a requirement) but more with permissions.
The way to test is to either run Lightroom as Administrator or check that your UID has full access to those directories through the properties dialog.
My guess is that previously you used a single access I'd that had administrator access and the new one you created doesn't.
You were right.
The entire directory tree had been marked hidden and read only. It happened after a windows update, and certainly wasn't something I did manually. I will be interesting to see if the attributes change again.
Thanks for the tip - it helped me resolve it.
