I am building a website that is currently on my development server. http://www.thepointnet.com/novatec-development
I am using a Typeset font (font-family: "Fira Sans";) in the CSS and this will only appear on the website when I view it on the same Mac that I am building the site on.
When viewed on a smart phone or on another PC it is just defaulting to the sans font.
I have been through all Adobes fault finding suggestions to no avail.
Anyone have any clues?
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. The CSS on your site is using the font-family name "Fira Sans", e.g.
color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 1);
font-family: "Fira Sans";
The family name provided by Typekit is "fira-sans", with a hyphen. The browser is looking for a locally-installed version of the font currently, instead of the files being provided by Typekit.
If you update the CSS file to use "fira-sans" everywhere that you have "Fira Sans", the fonts should start working across all browsers and operating systems.
(For future reference, you can check the Typekit family name in the Kit Editor by clicking the "Using fonts in CSS" link under Selectors:
Please give that a try, and let us know if you have any other questions! Best,
You are indeed a wonderful person.. Thank you.
Sometimes you cannot see the wood for the trees. I thought it would be something obvious.
