I use Indesign CS6 and should work with Japanese characters. How can I make it work? Thx

If you are using a permanent license of English CS6, and need to do high-quality Japanese typesetting, I would suggest that you go out and buy a license for World Tools Pro. If you can read Japanese, you can limp along with standard English typesetting tools. There are ways to turn on the Japanese type composer in plain-vanilla English ID, and to set vertical type. (Here are some templates that you can use, that Diane Burns put up umpteen million years ago.)

But if you're willing to spend some money to get access to all of the Japanese-specific typesetting tools, I strongly suggest that you head over to in-tools.com and check out World Tools Pro; it has pretty much every tool you need to set Japanese type.

If you can tell us more about what you need to do, and your experience reading and/or typesetting Japanese, we can cook up some more specific advice for you.
