    River Effect with Jumping Fish

On this excellent Jaqie Lawson Ecard site there is a Canal Boat card. Canal Boat

How do they do the river and the jumping fish?

Not after step-by-step instructions. Just the techniques used in Flash CS4 Professional.

      Regards, Mike (A Flash Newbie)

The river is more of an optical illusion of sorts, where things get reflected as though it were water (except the fish... they missed that detail). The effect of the water moving is a continuously moving (transparent background) graphic layer containing debri elements. The fish, a motion tween of a fish in an arc and one of a ring expanding to a fade.

Aside from the artwork, the majority of the animation elements are fairly basic, so you should have no problem recreating something like it. It might be a good starting point for you to help you become familiar with some of the basic Flash capabilities.

Thanks, Ned, I can see that. I do appreciate the help.
