What application are you trying to use? I think you may have posted in the wrong forum (this forum is for Capture CC, a mobile app).
Let me know and I'll move your post.
Sorry, you are correct. Please move the post. Thanks
Will do. I just need to know what application you're trying to use.
My video camera is a Canon 300 that saves the clips in the MXF format. I
want to import/capture them into my Adobe Premier elements program.
AFAIK, Premiere Elements does not support the XF300/XF305, XF100/XF105 cameras. You need to either convert the clips to a supported format or use Premiere Pro that has support for your camera without the need for converting the files.
If you change the extention to mpg it will import.
At least it does it with mxf/mpg files from my XF100 on windows.
Download the Canon XF Utility from their site.
Load up the card and export the files to mxf to the harddrive.
The batch change the extention to mpg.
BTW the Mac does import the mxf files straight into Elements.
In Elements go to the Project Assets, double click on an empty space, then Add Media.
Moved to the Elements forum.
Aha, i was not aware of that!
Nor was I until i imported some MXF footage in Elements on the mac accidental.
And to my surprise it was accepted.
That gave me the idea to change extension for Windows.
