which hard drives for raid system?

    coonasty Level 1

have an areca 1882ix and the arc-4036 on the way.  gonna put 8 sas drives in a raid 6 in it.

not looking to break the bank on this particular office's system for the hard drives but looking for a recommendation.

saw 4tb 7k4000's for around $200 sounds ok.

any rec's around that $200 or less per drive?  thx much

there appear to be several WD and seagate enterprise sas and sata drives closer to $150-180 on amazon. looks like sas drives are slightly cheaper than the sata, and looks like the arc-4036 supports both sas and sata. i think areca has lists of tested/compatible drives on their website, if you wanted to use that...
