Mac or Windows, and EXACTLY which version of the operating system?
Recent Mac AND Windows operating systems have been known to cause "odd" problems
Are you using a computer Administrator account with full read/write permission?
What is the exact error message that you see?
Exactly which version of the program do you have that is causing problems?
I am the computer admin account with full permission.
I just says it stops working, and windows is searching for more information.
Adobe InDesign CC 2015
Start by trashing the prefs. See Troubleshooting 101: Replace, or "trash" your preferences
If that doesn't work, please provide the full version number (including the build number) of InDesign, and the full text of any error message.
Having the same issue. Windows 10 did a large update, and none of the Adobe CC products would open. Installed all the updates of, which worked for each product but InDesign. I've tried replacing and trashing the preferences, same result. There's no error other than a message stating the program has stopped working. it asks if you would like to Debug, but that fails as well.
Windows 10, Computer Admin full permissions, Adobe InDesign CC 2015.
Has there been any update regarding this issue? We have many files setup in InDesign, and we cannot access any of those at this time. Please advise.
What have you tried so far?
Hi Peter. The issue occurred after Windows 10 released a large update last week. I initially installed a pending update of InDesign CC 2015 when the program wouldn't open. The same issue was happening with Photoshop and Illustrator. Updating those programs resolved the problem though. When the update didn't resolve the issue, I uninstalled and reinstalled the program, I've also tried replacing the preference with no resolution.
There is no error. A box appears stating the program has quit working.
If you create a new Windows user account, does it work?
I haven't, but the same issue is occurring on both our desktop and laptops.
Creating a new user is a diagnostic test to determine if the problem is programmatic or user related.
