    Unable to Update to latest version

      I currently have version 0.5.16.16 of xD and love it!

       

      I noticed that there was an update that has posted on Sept 26 (version 0.5.22). I have checked for updates, and it says I have the latest version.

       

      However it does not have the new features listed (ratio lock control, zoom to selection, live preview on devices).

       

      Is there something I can do to force and update? Any thoughts?

          Hey frankd54442863-

           

          Yes, there is! In your Creative Cloud app, click on the gear and select "Check for Updates." You should see an update in the app in your Creative Cloud list of applications at that point.

            Thank for the reply elainecc, however this does not work.

             

            I have checked for updates in the Creative Clould app as well as inside the program (help > check for updates) and both return that I have the latest version (5.16.16 which is not correct).

             

            Are there other steps that I could apply to correctly update?

              Hey frankd54442863 -

               

              I checked in with one of our installer experts, and he suggested rebooting your machine and checking the Creative Cloud app again. Can you try that out and let us know if it works?

                elainecc  I have rebooted and executed both of the "check for updates" in the Creative Cloud and xD menu.

                 

                Both have stated that I have the latest, 5.16.16 Beta.

                  That's definitely unexpected. Can you try uninstalling XD from the Creative Cloud, then installing it again? Also wanted to check: did you install our previous build yourself through the Creative Cloud app, or did your IT admin install it?

                    Thanks elainecc.

                     

                    I uninstalled XD from my computer (the first time I kept the preferences) and when it came back, I still said 5.16.16. The updating ran into an error.

                     

                    So I uninstalled for a second time, this time removing the saved preferences. After the re-install it did come up with a new version automatically (0.5.22.8). I was ok with trashing my saved preferences, but I can't say the same for others.

                     

                    regarding who installed it, our IT installed the first version. I am not familiar with how they did it (logged in as admin, then installed for my user vs. logged in as me and installed for me).  They also installed other CC apps like photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Dreamweaver. I will keep an eye out now for these and let you know if I experience any similar issues (definately do not want to trash those preferences)
