Hey there. Those instructions are a little overwhelming as there's a lot of information that you don't need to get going. As a shameless plug, my Flex 3 In Action book has a section on how to get the free SDK going.
What's happening in your case is you've loaded up an HTML template that then tries to load the Explorer Flex application - and it's not finding it for some reason.
First step is to make sure your Flash Player is a recent version. You can test it here:
Since you're getting into development, make sure it says Debug Player, and the latest version is 10.0.12.36.
To download the latest debug player you can get it here:
I checked and I have debug version WIN 9,0,124,0****The SDK install instructions pointed me to installation steps that included uninstalling the version I had and installing this specific WIN 9,0,124,0 debug version.????
If I go to version 10, will this efect the way my swf files, which I develop with Flash CS3, will behave?
Is your Flex book geared for somebody like me, stepping up from HTML and Flash CS3? So, your saying if I read your book I should absolutely be able to get the free SDK going on my Vista (32) computer and be able to click on the explorer.html properly?
