Lightroom does not give this option. The two choices you have are (1) stored with the catalog, and (2) not stored with the catalog.
My recommendation is NOT with the catalog. You should be able to create an OS shortcut to the "develop presets" folder for ease of use.
I can't even imagine why you'd want presets in a folder on your desktop or in my pictures. You can only make use of them from inside of Lightroom, you cannot make use of them from a file browser utility like Windows Explorer or Mac Finder. Even if you could put the presets in those locations, you gain nothing from doing so.
Thanks for reply !
dj_paige my idea was that use a folder from my dropbox folder. And like this i can use the excatly the same preset when i'm on my macbook or my imac. And if i delete or add a New preset in this folder, it work with both computer.
If the presets and watermak will could be in the cloud it' will be easier !
thanks for support!
But you can copy the preset to another computer. Not quite as easy as DropBox, but certainly doable.
While we are discussing the develop preset folder, make sure you add your lightroom presets to your backup plans.
