Without thinking, I opened and made changes to one folder of images on our main computer and then later on made edits to a different folder of images in the external hard drive's catalog file.
Paige is confused. Are these the exact some photos on two different drives? And both sets of photos have been imported into Lightroom? Can you give us any more details?
Hey Paige! Thanks for your quick response. Let me see if I can clarify a bit more...
ON THE MAIN DRIVE:
Our main drive currently has the original client LR catalog
>> It has a folder of "original files" that were edited for the client.
>> It also has a folder of "additional files" that were edited for the client later.
ON THE EXTERNAL DRIVE:
The external hard drive has the same stuff as above.
However, we edited many of the "original files" folder using the external hard drive's LR catalog by accident instead of keeping it as a sole backup file.
So, I want to merge the changes we made on the external drive into the main drive's LR catalog for just the one folder of images (which is the most recent) without losing the edits we made to the other "additional files" folder we made on the main drive.
I appreciate your insight in advance! Thank you.

On the External Drive, open the LR catalog, select the folder of interest, right-click on the folder and choose Export This Folder as a Catalog ...
On the Internal Drive, open the Lightroom catalog there, select File->Import from Another Catalog and select the catalog you created from the external drive.
Oh, I didn't even think about the "Export this Folder as Catalog" option!!! That's brilliant. Thank you, Paige. I really appreciate it. That should do it.
Thanks so much for your help! Have a great day!
