    Adobe Lightroom Making Sky Pixelated

I just started using Lightroom and I really like what it does, however, it's messing up the sky when I try opening the updated photo in other applications, such as Adobe Photoshop or the Windows picture viewer. For instance, using Lightroom, I'll open a file of a scenic photograph, then apply a simple preset of "Cross Process 1", then save (export) it. It looks great in Lightroom, but when I open the updated file in another application, the sky looks "pixelated", with different shades of blue; so it looks like different shades of blue rings. I don't like this and am not sure why Lightroom is doing this? Any suggestions, thoughts, ideas, etc.? Please help!
