If you care to upload a problem clip to a file sharing site, I can check it here, see what happens.
Thanks for your reply.
The Canon XF 305 cards -> structure of the folder CONTENTS has around 30GB and its client's footage.
I have just tested another card and that has also some red frames and Adobe premiere has shown the message decode problem of mxf files and counts frames.
Unfortunately, I've seen enough reports of issues like this from folks using Canon cameras recording MXF files to suspect that Canon is doing something odd with their files. You can search the forums to see what other folks have come up with for an immediate solution.
Not sure if Canon does something wrong as these files works fine in other softwares like Final Cut Pro and any other 3rd party converters.
I will have a look around for some solutions and if I find something will post it here.
I had to finish edit in Final Cut Pro which is fine but would prefere to be editing in Adobe CC
I am still having this problem. Not sure how to fix it.
Can't export anything as it fails on error.
We need some technical assistance urgently on Adobe following some concerning issues around MXF decode errors and red frames in premiere timeline. I have searched forums and found this thread but no result I can see.
We aren't using Canon MXF files rather DNxHD and XDCAM HD 422.
Can someone please point us in the right direction of someone who can assist us with this issue?
Will an update to 2017 help?
DNxHD and XDCAM HD 422.
From what source specifically?
We have been ingesting sports media via SDI baseband using Blackmagic Capture card and Avid Media Composer to provide DNxHD 85 MXF files for fast availability and turn around via an AVID Nexis storage. We have recently had an Imagine playout solution commissioned that is ingesting the same incoming feeds as XDCAM HD 50 422 and we have been picking up these mxf decode errors and red frames in media since that. Most of the affected clips are very long (±2 hours).
This was all using HP440 Workstation PCs with Adobe Premiere Pro 2015.3, but I tried on my Mac with 2017 and even updated the PC Creative Cloud to have 2017 for AME & Premiere and the problem persisted, which makes me think the issue is with the ingest format video dropout or corrupt file?
We are having issues with this - we have tried using Media Encoder to transcode the affected clip into DNxHD (HQ) but even Media Encoder failed - see attached log from AME
What causes this error, a corrupt MXF container file, incorrect codecs or video dropout in the media?
Would also like to know of someone using the XDCAM HD 422 workflow successfully in Premiere (our knowledge and enquiries with other professional says to stay away from using XDCAM or Long GOP video formats for editing)
I appreciate your input and advice.

What's feeding that capture card?
