    Lightroom synch, catalog conflicts

      I've set LR on both my desktop and laptops (PCs) independently using Creative Cloud. Each have their own imports though the laptops catalog is expendable (just a few duplicates already available to the Desktop.  When I try to synch LR on my laptop, LR tells me that there is a catalog problem. Seems I'm supposed to delete one somewhere but do not understand how to proceed from the point where I get this error message. Can anyone give me a step-by-step set of instructions?
