Recent versions of After Effects do not require you to add GPU's to that .txt file. You can just tick the "use unsupported cards" option.
In both cases, the only thing it affects is the ray-traced renderer. That is considered an obsolete feature. So, unless you are using it for some reason (and, with C4D Lite, Element, and other, better options, you probably shouldn't be), it's not something to worry about anyway.
That being said, there is no such thing as AE CC 2016. If you are running something that says that, you are likely running a pirated version that's been making the rounds and that particular version has quite a few bugs in it.
