It seems to me you are double-clicking on the Installer file rather than the application icon.
Could you tell us the exact full name of the icon or file your are double-clicking on?
I'm not even starting the app. It is already installed on my PC and the window pops up by itself.
What Bit version of Windows are you running, 32 or 64 bit?
What is the exact version number of LR that is currently installed?
you can stop the CC app from opening with the startup of the computer from the Gear icon in the upper right hand corner and select Preferences. On the Genera section uncheck Launch at Login. Then click the back arrow in the upper left of that window and then the Gear icon again and select Quit. Reboot your PC.
If you are running a 32bit version of Windows you can use the newer versions of LR. It is only for 64 bit operating systems.
I'm running 64 bit system.
The new installation is 2015.7 release and the old one is 2015.
Every time that CC app checks for updates, it pops up that update lightroom window and automatically runs the lightroom app.
If I press "No, I'll keep my current version", it goes away and says that my apps are all up to date.
Then, when I choose "Check for App Updates" from the menu, everything is OK until next time it pops up again.
By the way, if I'll choose the CC app not to run with windows start up, will I still have app updates when they roll out?
So, there is something strange happening over here.
I start with the 2015.7 release. then, this window appears:
I choose the "YES" option and see for the app being installed.
After it finishes the installation, it automatically runs Lightroom, but an older version
And this is what I see on the CC app:
It shows that the Lightroom app is out of date and I need to update it.
So I press on the Update button and see the app installing, and it automatically runs Lightroom after installation is finished.
The version looks like 2015.7 release:
And on the CC app, I see the following screen:
So everything is up to date.
Until several minutes or so, it again shows this screen:
And the loops goes on and on and on...
The updates show up on my system and I have the CC app turned off since the day I first installed it.
Personally what I would do is backup all my custom settings, uninstall all Adobe programs, use the CC cleaner tool to wipe everything out and then Reinstall. In fact that is exactly what I've done at least once since I signed up for the Photographers subscription plan.
I used the CC Cleaner Tool and chose to remove all components.
And still, the problems remains...
It keeps asking me to update lightroom.
Another strange thing is that I've disabled CC from running on startup but it still pops up the update window,
As if it was running the regular way...
Apparently, there was an opened URL in my Google Chrome, which directed me to install the Lightroom version.
It was re-opening because Google Chrome saves the last session I was on, and every time the URL was opened, it suggested to install the older Lightroom version.
