ok, so i recently downloaded premier elements 9 to my macbook pro.
the video when i go to edit is choppy, and yes i chose the correct format at frame rate before editing.
the video playback fine from photos, and quick time but when i try to edit it doesn't its super choppy and I'm getting really annoyed
Version 9 is a very old version of the program and offers very little support for many current video formats, including MP4. In fact, it's support of AVCHD is even pretty primitive. Version 9 could really only handle tape-based miniDV and HDV video well. The program today is light years ahead of where it was!
I don't know what you mean by "I chose the correct format at frame rate before editing". But what model of camcorder is your video coming from and what format and resolution is the video?
If you look under the Edit menu, what are listed as your Project Settings?
Also what processor do you have and with how much RAM?
